For a moment these works may appear as if they are made from plaster, but this time, they are actually layers upon layers of flexible paper. The Beijing artist Li Hongbo, was inspired by paper gourds made from layers of glued paper that can expand into different shapes and close back into the original form. Hongbo has built off this concept and created these flexible sculptures. Hongbo demonstrates, how his paper sculptures work in the video below. Also, check out more of Li Hongbo's work,
